Johann Eid is Chief Business Officer at Chainlink Labs, where he leads the commercial and go-to-market organisation behind Chainlink - the oracle and interoperability network that most of DeFi, and increasingly regulated finance, depends on for pricing, data and cross-chain settlement. He joined in 2019 and spent the early years integrating protocols including Aave and Synthetix when onchain lending and derivatives were still unproven, having previously been Regional Head for France at the Enterprise Ethereum Alliance and a strategist at Wanchain. His remit now is institutional: the Chainlink Runtime Environment underpinning DTCC’s tokenised collateral platform, CCIP as the rail banks and protocols move value across, and benchmark data built with Tradeweb, FTSE Russell and SIX Group. He argues adoption comes from wiring existing financial systems into blockchains rather than replacing them - which is the same problem agentic finance hits the moment an autonomous agent needs a price it can trust and a settlement guarantee it can act on.
