About Guillaume
Guillaume Poncin is Chief Technology Officer at Alchemy, the blockchain development platform behind a large share of the industry’s applications and wallets, where he leads engineering across its node, account and payments infrastructure. He joined in 2023 from Stripe, where he was head of engineering for banking and financial products and then for crypto, and before that spent twelve years at Google leading teams on problems ranging from scanning and indexing the world’s books to storing data consistently for 500 million Drive users. He was also Chief Product Officer and VP of Engineering at Osmo through to its acquisition by Byju’s in 2019, and studied computer science at Stanford, specialising in machine learning and computer vision. His argument that banks and fintechs increasingly want DeFi under the hood is exactly the plumbing question agentic finance runs into.
